united we stand

Almost 3 decades of quality education for primary and high school learners in Johannesburg

We are UCS, an independent, non-denominational, multi-cultural, co-educational school with affordable fees and “private school” standards.

  • We stand for pride, passion, excellence, commitment, confidence and discipline.
  • We stand for a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • We stand for a quality education that nurtures and develops our children to the best of their abilities.

At UCS we encourage and nurture our young learners to grow them into capable seniors able to succeed in high school and beyond.

Our passionate and knowledgeable teachers focus on the learners as individuals to help them develop and prepare for successful futures.

Our donors make it possible for UCS to provide affordable quality education. However, our wish list keeps growing as we continue to ready our children for bright futures.

Our School Life

UCS is situated on Frances Street in the heart of Yeoville, where we provide a safe, caring and positive environment for children to learn. We first opened our doors in 1990, with the aim of providing affordable, high-quality education to children in the inner city. We have evolved to meet the needs of our community and today we are a multi-cultural and multi-denominational school catering to over 600 learners.

At UCS we believe that every individual has the ability to overcome obstacles through education. Most of our learners experience severe challenges in their young lives, so at UCS they are loved and nurtured. Here every child has the freedom to learn and develop to their best potential.

UCS is registered with the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA) and the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE). We are often commended for our on-going successes, we consistently achieve 100% Grade 12 pass rates, and many of our Matriculants go on to study at universities.
